TEACHER TRAINING

Building teachers capacity across Haiti.

TEACHING WITH HEART, LEADING WITH PURPOSE

Through initiatives such as the Ten-Year Education and Training Support Project (PAPDEF) and the Mwen Kontan Aprann program, we support over 50 schools across the North, West, and South, reaching more than 10,000 students in 21 communes. PAPDEF, implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP), is based on the Quality Assurance System (SAQ), which helps public and private schools enhance their educational environment in five key areas: leadership, pedagogical management, administrative management, community participation, and child-friendly practices.

Our teacher training program combines academic, operational, and pedagogical approaches to build the capacity of teachers and school leaders, promoting active learning methods, classroom management, fiduciary responsibility, textbook distribution, and hybrid learning tools. Each session emphasizes child-centered instruction, emotional support, and practical strategies tailored to local realities. A key factor in the program’s success is the satisfaction expressed by teachers and administrators, who recognize the quality and relevance of the training provided. By investing in educators in both rural and urban areas, PRODEV fosters inclusive, high-quality education and contributes to long-term educational resilience in Haiti.
