Strengthening Local Capacity

Founded by PRODEV in 2010, the Lourie Community Center is a vital safe space on the campus of École Nouvelle Zoranje in Village de la Renaissance, Cité Soleil.

Equipped with a computer lab, the Center provides youth with essential digital skills and hands-on training in sewing, photography, entrepreneurship, and civic leadership. It serves as a vibrant hub for learning, culture, and recreation—empowering youth and women to connect, grow, and thrive.

In a community impacted by violence and gang recruitment, the Lourie Center offers a powerful alternative: safety, purpose, and opportunity. Through vocational training and cultural engagement, PRODEV helps reduce juvenile delinquency and foster resilience, confidence, and hope for a better future.
